From Early Lessons to Lifelong Purpose: Remy's Journey

About me

Remy’s Story

I was raised in a family of entrepreneurs, so I developed an entrepreneurial mindset early on, watching my father and grandfather build businesses from the ground up. By the time I was a kid, I was already launching small ventures of my own—like an automotive detailing company. These experiences instilled in me a strong work ethic and business acumen that would shape my future career.

In college, I interned at Merrill Lynch during the 2008 financial crash—a defining moment in my life. Witnessing the fear and uncertainty of that time, I realized I wanted to help people navigate through turbulent markets and avoid financial pitfalls, whether it was paying too much in taxes, making costly mistakes, or failing to leave the legacy they intended. Despite the chaos, this is when my passion for guiding others through difficult financial decisions truly took root.

Determined to make a difference, Remy went on to earn his licenses and eventually became a Certified Financial Planner™. His journey has been driven by a commitment to helping individuals build and protect their wealth, ensuring they make informed decisions that secure their financial futures. Today, Remy applies that same entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to his work, empowering clients to achieve their goals and live the life they’ve envisioned.

Faith

Growing up Catholic, one of my fondest memories was going to our local church with my mother. Every Sunday, she would take us there, and afterward, we’d grab a bite to eat nearby.

Despite our financial struggles, especially after my parents separated early in my life, these moments brought a sense of joy and community. My father had been a great dad, but his sudden departure left us feeling abandoned and even more vulnerable.

As a child, I was curious about the rituals in the church, wondering why people would kneel and pray. I felt a sense of belonging during these gatherings, even though I didn’t fully understand their significance. However, as I entered my teenage years, life became more challenging. We had very little, and I often felt unwanted. It was a difficult time, and I struggled to find my place.

My early twenties were a turning point, offering a path toward independence. During those years, I often found myself talking to God, yearning to grow closer to Him, yet feeling a disconnect due to my lack of full focus and attention. After a few years of sporadic faith, I made a decision: I would pray every day. This commitment transformed my relationship with God. I began to see how He had been working in my life, even in moments when I was unaware of His presence. Today, my faith is an integral part of my life. I pray with my wife, family, and friends, always putting God first. We are grateful for the immense favor He has shown us and strive to thank Him in everything we do.

Family

Marjorie and I met during the hurricane season in South Florida in 2017. Hurricane Irma had just made landfall, and Marjorie, originally from San Francisco, was staying at her best friend’s place to weather the storm. As the winds howled outside, we began to talk, and our conversations quickly grew into a connection that eventually led to our first date. At first, Marjorie wasn’t sure if she liked me. She often jokes about how she wasn’t attracted to me initially but enjoyed our conversations.

Marjorie is incredibly intelligent, independent, and always positive—traits that draw people to her. As a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, board-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, with fellowship training in Sports Medicine, she is not only inspiring but also deeply dedicated to her work. She’s also a yoga instructor and a fitness enthusiast, making her an incredibly well-rounded person. Despite her initial reservations, I must have been quite persuasive because I eventually convinced her to marry me. We’ve been happily married ever since.

Marjorie has a wonderful family in California, whom I’m proud to call my own. We often travel there to visit them. In South Florida, we have a close-knit group of friends who feel like family. We’re avid attendees of local farmers’ markets and our yoga studio, which we consider a key part of our community. Marjorie continues to inspire me every day, and her positivity and strength make our life together incredibly fulfilling.

Finance

I began my career right out of college in 2008, diving into the financial industry during a time of great economic turmoil. The journey was far from easy. I spent months studying for the Series 7 and Series 66 exams, knowing that the passage rates were barely 50%. I was determined to be on the right side of those statistics. Thankfully, I passed both exams and entered the financial services industry as an investment advisor.

Building a successful financial practice from the ground up was no small feat. I dedicated countless hours to understanding the intricacies of the industry, continually expanding my knowledge base. This commitment led me to pursue and achieve the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation, a rigorous three-year process that included extensive coursework and exams.

This certification ensured that I was well equipped to address the unique financial challenges faced by my clients. As my practice grew, I realized that the best move for my clients’ futures was to start my own firm. I chose an independent financial solutions firm that operates in a fiduciary capacity. I strive to provide advice free from external corporate influences and only in the best interest in my clients.

Over time, I noticed a significant portion of my clients were physicians. Many were friends and family, which gave me a unique perspective on the financial challenges they face, such as investment management, taxes, and lawsuits. My understanding of these issues deepened gradually as I worked closely with more physicians, tailoring my services to meet their specific needs. I saw the opportunity to create a platform dedicated to helping physicians improve their financial well-being.

While a large part of my practice focuses on physicians, I also service a select group of high-net-worth non-physicians. This diverse client base allows me to apply my expertise broadly, ensuring that all my clients receive the highest level of financial guidance and support. It is a great pleasure of mine to support you in reaching your financial objectives, and delivering financial clarity and a stable foundation for your future.
